As the aesthetic medicine market in Georgia continues to grow, driven by an increasing demand for specialized professionals, Lotus – one of the country’s leading aesthetic medical centers – has established itself as a key player in providing top-tier training. Since its founding in 2018, the Lotus Educational Center has experienced significant growth, culminating in a rebranding initiative in 2023 that updated its educational offerings to meet contemporary standards.

Lotus has been providing industry-leading laser treatments and a range of cosmetic procedures, including both invasive and non-invasive options, body treatments and cosmetic surgery for over 15 years, while its Educational Center specializes in three key areas — laser therapy, cosmetology, and massage therapy. Each of these programs is led by a team of highly skilled professionals with extensive medical backgrounds.

Tea Ebralidze, the Director of Lotus, shared insights about the Center, its success, and its experience in a recent interview with Golden Brand.

Q. Can you share some recent news and achievements at Lotus?

A. Today I want to highlight our Educational Center, showcasing its achievements and future potential. In recent years the aesthetic medicine market has experienced systematic and intensive growth, leading to an impressive demand for specialists in this field. In response to this need, Lotus has been engaged in educational initiatives since 2018, culminating in the establishment of a dedicated aesthetic medicine training center.

In 2023 the Center underwent a rebranding process, updating its programs to meet contemporary standards and challenges. The Center now offers training across three specialized areas. The first focus is on laser therapy, which encompasses alexandrite laser hair removal, diode laser hair removal, and a comprehensive tattoo removal course. The second area of training is cosmetology, which includes both injection techniques and foundational cosmetic practices. Finally, the center provides a course in massage therapy, covering both manual and instrumental massage techniques.

Q. After seven years, can you say that this initiative has been successful?

A. Overall, the idea was shaped by market demands, and we’ve given it serious consideration. From this perspective, I can confidently say that the initiative has truly paid off.

Every month we welcome a new group of enthusiastic individuals eager to learn and master new professions.

Regarding our achievements, I’m pleased to share that in 2024 our Center was nominated for the Medical Award for the best training project. We also won the Best Training Center award in 2023. In 2024 we also received the Golden Brand award. Previously, our training program was certified with the ISO 9001 quality certificate.

One of our main achievements is that our training center recently obtained a license from the National Center For Educational Quality Enhancement of Georgia. This recognition means our laser hair removal training program is officially approved and acknowledged by the state. So graduates are registered in the state database, and upon completion of their studies they receive an international certificate.

So far we have had two graduating classes, and we are expecting another new group in the near future.

Q. What type of environment does the Center provide students?

A. Lotus Educational Center is proud to have a team of professionals with higher medical education, many years of experience, and excellent teamwork skills, which we prioritize in our program. Our training takes place in well-equipped classrooms, and we offer prospective students attractive conditions and a variety of training programs.

For instance, in the area of laser hair removal, we provide a state-recognized program that issues a certification. We offer express courses for both diode laser and alexandrite laser hair removal, as well as tattoo removal programs that have gained popularity recently. Students can choose to take both courses together, allowing them to complete the program in just two weeks. Our training program has been awarded an ISO certificate and complies with all relevant standards. Graduates of the express course also have the option to accumulate credit points by completing additional work hours. This unique opportunity is available exclusively through Lotus among training centers today.

We recognize that some students may have busy schedules that prevent them from attending classes during standard hours. To accommodate them we offer evening classes that begin at 7pm, with admissions approximately every three months. We also provide an individualized program where students can select their class times and complete the course at their own pace.

Q. What opportunities are available for individuals in the regions seeking training courses?

A. We offer a unique opportunity for students in regional areas. Residents of these regions can participate in the express course via partnership with Belnatur beauty salon, where practical classes are held in the western regions of Adjara and Imereti, specifically in Samtredia and Kutaisi.

The theoretical portion of the regional express program is conducted online, while practical classes take place on-site. Once the training is complete, we travel to the region to conduct examinations and issue certificates to graduates. Additionally, students in these areas can engage in extra practice and earn credit points. If a student successfully completes both the express course and additional practice, they will receive a diploma confirming their expertise.

We also welcome immigrants who wish to learn a profession at Lotus, and we have considerable experience in facilitating their training.

Q. What employment opportunities are available for those who complete the Lotus training courses?

A. Employers have a strong level of confidence in Lotus due to our high employment rate for graduates. We place them not only within our own network but also in our partner organizations and competing companies that recognize the quality of our training program. As a result, they know they will find excellent and qualified personnel among our graduates. Almost all laser therapists and cosmetologists working within the Lotus network are alumni of our school.

Since our rebranding in 2023, we have successfully graduated about 500 people in laser therapy and around 100 in cosmetology. Most of these are now employed in various centers, and many have even established their own clinics, which makes us extremely proud.

In addition to vocational training, we have introduced a unique curriculum on medical ethics. This program covers the essential principles of medical ethics, including relationships with patients and colleagues, confidentiality, patient autonomy, and the principles of equality, all of which are highly relevant today. We believe that we are not just training professionals in their respective fields; we are also equipping them with the skills needed to build meaningful relationships with people.
